Join Zoom Meeting https://us02web.zoom.us/j/84142306059 Meeting ID: 841 4230 6059 Chair: Benedikt Huber, Fribourg Transforming clinical experience to scientific evidence: research opportunities in complementary and i ntegrative m edicine Sunita Vohra , Alberta (CAN ) Lecture followed by an exchange on questions of the participants (English) Prof. Sunita Vohra is a pediatri cian and Centennial Professor in the Department of Pediatrics in the Faculty of Medicine & Dentistry, University of Alberta, Canada. She is a clinician scientist with training in pediatrics, clinical pharmacology and clinical epidemiology. Her primary research interest is enhancing clinical research methods, including innovative clinical trial design, active surveillance in safety resea rch and improved outcomes reporting. Most often she has applied this interest to advance knowledge regarding patient use of complementary therapies. Her interest in methods research has allowed her to collaborate widely with colleagues across disciplines, populations, and interventions. For example, she has built international research partnerships including with CONSORT, the Cochrane Collaboration, and international leaders in outcomes reporting (e.g. COMET, COSMIN). Dr. Vohra has advised the Canadian fede ral governme nt regarding natural health product regulation, and she assisted both the Canadian Paediatric Society and the American Academy of Pediatrics to develop their position statements on the use of complementary therapies. She was a founding member and past president of the Section of Integrative Medicine of the American Academy of Pediatrics .
